GPS Base Data

Welcome to the Waypoint Technology Group GPS Base Station Information Site. Here we provide free access to base files recorded by our GPS Reference Station in Albany, New York for GPS users who would like to postprocess their survey or mapping files. The Waypoint Base Station is managed using Trimble's GPSBase base station software, which records raw GPS data, including pseudo-range, carrier phase, and ephemeris information, as well as differential corrections. The reference position for this Base Station was established using the NGS OPUS system. The survey was performed on 1/16/05. Details regarding the base station site and operation are listed below. After reviewing this information, proceed to the file download area below to access the specific base files that you need.

Please note that after January 16th, 2005, .ssf files will no longer be logged and available for download. Please use the .dat file or files that correspond to your data instead. This change will not adversely affect the differential correction of data in Pathfinder Office. Pathfinder Office is capable of differentially correcting your .ssf files that were collected by Trimble mapping receivers, using either .dat or .ssf files. If you have any problems using .dat files, or any questions about the base station and its capabilities, please contact us.

Hours of Operation	Base Station files are logged 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. If you anticipate the need for base station data covering other time periods, please contact us at least 3 days in advance at (518) 438-6293 or E-mail us with your request and we will make every effort to record the files that you need.
File Formats Available	Trimble .DAT propriety format. RINEX file formats can be logged upon request
File Naming Convention	Each file is named using a YYMMDDHH.zip format. WT is the file prefix (does not change); MM is the month, DD is the day of the month (local day) and HH is the start time of the data file in Greenwich Mean Time (24-hour format). For example, a file containing data for 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on January 10, 2000 would be named 05011018.zip.
