1001 - Global Positioning System Overview
Background: GPS has found its way into cars, boats, planes, surveying and construction equipment, cameras, farm machinery, laptop computers, cell phones and virtually any other type of gear that can put knowledge of position to work for its users.
Course Goals & Objectives: This course is intended to give the user a better understanding of what the GPS system is comprised of and how it works. We will take a look at the different segments that make up GPS, different signals from the satellites and correction types that can be applied to GPS. A discussion about the future of GPS is also included in this module.
Prerequisites: This is an introductory level class and no prerequisites are required.
