304 – GPS Mission Planning and Network Design
Background: Some survey projects may require a large extensive control network. If you are not accustomed to this type of work and want accurate results without sacrificing efficiency this may be a good module for you. We will come up with a plan that incorporates all of your available GNSS receives and multiple survey styles to get the best results.
Course Goals & Objectives: As a part of this module the user will be introduced to the Trimble Planning and GNSS forecast utilities. Satellite visibility and log sheet templates will be distributed to aid the user in planning and execution stages of the survey. Control guidelines from various agencies will be reviewed to find the appropriate guidelines for your project. By the end of this module the user should have developed a theoretical or actual occupational strategy that satisfies the work scope, time, and budgetary concerns.
Prerequisites: This course is designed for those that have an actual project to plan for or would like to learn the workflow behind designing control networks.
